These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to the Fadio Android app ("Fadio", "the app"), made by appalloo ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please uninstall the app.
1. The app
Fadio is a temporary camera. The photos you take are stored privately inside the app and delete themselves when they expire. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with how it works, or use it for anything unlawful.
2. Price
Fadio is free to download and use, with no ads and no account.
3. Photos are meant to disappear
Deleting photos is what Fadio is for. When a photo's time runs out, Fadio moves it to the Bin, and 48 hours later it deletes it for good. Once that happens, neither you nor we can get it back. Uninstalling the app deletes all of its photos at once, including the Bin.
- If a photo matters, tap "Keep" to save it to your gallery, or extend its time before it expires.
- Don't use Fadio as the only place you store anything you need to keep, such as receipts, documents or proof of something.
4. No guarantees about timing or erasure
Android can delay background work to save battery, so a photo may move to the Bin or be deleted for good later than its countdown shows, for example while your phone is off or in battery saver. Fadio deletes its files through Android, but it can't guarantee that deleted data can never be recovered from your device's storage by special tools.
A photo also stops being temporary once it leaves the app: a photo you save with "Keep" or share with another app, or a screenshot of the screen, is outside Fadio's control and isn't deleted when the countdown ends.
5. Taking photos of others
You are responsible for the photos you take. Respect other people's privacy and follow the laws where you are, including rules about photographing people, private places and copyrighted material.
6. Your data
Your photos and notes stay on your device and aren't backed up by Fadio or by Android's device backup. If you lose your device or uninstall the app, they're gone. Our Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.
7. Other services
Sharing a photo, saving it to your gallery, emailing us and opening links go through other apps and services, which have their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for those services.
8. Intellectual property
The app, including its design, code, graphics and name, belongs to appalloo and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute any part of the app without our written permission, except as allowed by law. Open-source components included in the app, such as the Bricolage Grotesque font (SIL Open Font License), are licensed under their own licenses.
Android and Google Play are trademarks of Google LLC. Fadio is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
9. Disclaimers
Fadio is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, that photos will be deleted at an exact time, or that the app will keep any photo until you need it.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses from using or being unable to use Fadio, including photos that expired, were deleted or were lost, and photos that stayed on your device or reached others after you saved or shared them. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the consumer laws of your country.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update Fadio or these Terms, and we'll change the effective date at the top when we do. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
